It was HOT this weekend at Rd4 of the OUTLAW452.COM Main Event Series at Southwest MX Park. They held a 3 man team race to use it as a “warm-up” for Houston’s Dealer Challenge. The OUTLAW452.COM/EBR Performance team of Blake Hamilton, Curren Therman and Austin Roden rode away to victory lane as they won each of their respective classes. We were able to catch up with the tripod terrorist Outlaw452.com: give us a short bio Austin roden: Austin roden, 21 years old, Baytown, TX. I work at Highjlands Kawasaki, I go to school ful time at U of H. Just make sure you hit those races with Kawi bucks…score that VISA! Great riding btw this weekend How long have you been racing? ’s. By the 80’s days, my brother and I had a falling through and just started working at HK about a year and a half ago. I’ve been wanting to ride forever. Well a buddy of mine at work finally talked enough crap and that’s when I got the Honda450 I’m on now this guy traded in. That my next question, “Machinery” so that pretty much wraps that up! How did you feel the weekend as a whole, the team deal and all? It was great! To be on your team with Blake and Curren. I liked the format as well with the short qualifiers and long main events unique series fun to race again 2 450C holeshots which is what mattered most. Well thanks again to contributing to the team Blake Hamilton: We got dirty b on the line, what up? Haha, I’m blake Hamilton, 16 years old and ride for Honda of Houston, ebr, no fear & outlaw452 So b, I heard you have a new gf? Oh dang! Want to comment on that No comment You looked a bit under powered this weekend. How was the battle with player I didn’t even know who that was but I wasn’t too worried about him. I knew I could win. We saw you scrubbing hard over the finish, making it look good. I was going to ask you about that but I’m guessing that’s not an issue Well I had to follow him for like 4 laps then finally was able to set him up. Any goals to finish out ’09? Top 5 at Branson, try to make the mini O’s and see where it goes from there. Hopefully win dealers challenge like we did here We had a great team! What’s in store for 2010? I’m still eligible for schoolboy plus they (ama) changed the rules so you can’t turn pro until you’re 18. My goals are to build the name, get noticed then hopefully get some sort of deal The 450? Those things are fast! They’re so expensive Probably cheaper to buy a smart car (laughs) at least get one to practice on Anything else? Thanks to josh @ ebr for partnering up! Curren Therman: Give us a bio. I know you’re begging to talk! Curren therman, 14 years old, I’ve been riding since I was 2 but racing for 7. I ride the 12-13 85 stock and mod. Whats your biggest accomplishment 7th at ponca city in the 12-13 mod class You and Dillon came together and he went down pretty hard. Was there any confrontation afterwards Nope, just a good battle. He’s always been good competition 2010? Anything on the table? Top 3 at all nationals at least. Then get a 250f and get some time on that before I have to move up That’s my next question, 250f’s As soon as my dad can get us one! Haha, the story of our lives! I think we all have had that problem at least once! Did you score a new sponsor over the weekend Yea, outlaw452.com, thanks ebr, my family, larry hughes, and parts unlimited, pony for all emergency situations and god Team Question: did everyone and everything work well together? Do each of you think we deserved to win? b-we all won, of course we deserve to win! We swept all the motos(everyone laughing) you’re crazy b c-you put a good team together with all of us it was perfect to hire you© and blake but then, I’m telling blake, lets brainstormand Austin came through and stomped it! I take no credit, congrats gentlemen for the hard work and making OUTLAW452.COM look so good! |
