I won't let you down

as time goes by ... it seems to crawl past in cognito. Almost visible. That’s what it is making me feel like after this bumpy week's roller coaster of laying in bed staring at this screen each day. I talked to my friend Kent Stephenson. He unfortunately is suffering from a t4 sci himself. We were talking about some similarities’ in our injuries (I broke c5,6. Paralyzing me from chest/shoulders down) and talks of passing out trying to stand, falling out, spasms, uti's, etc. He talked of how things would remind him of his injury. Like the way an old song brings the exact feeling back to you. In each of our cases we really miss riding motorcycles of all form. That was my whole world, literally. Following my injury in therapy was a struggle, insurance issues, staph infection, moving only my left arm only. These were just a few things that my family and I were plagued from. As Kent chatters away on the other line, he was on the FES Bike. Then I told him about how the FES Bike makes me really disreflexic (when your body is trying to tell you something is wrong. I'll get bumps all down my body, sweat, headache, etc.) lately.

I am locked into an announcing job for the “Mini Wars” for this weekend at Rio Bravo MX. He asked me to talk because he said the kids look up to me. Well shoot that’s almost a catch 22. I want to ride with these kids as well…not just be their voice. I want to make an impact on these younger Houstonians (no earrings, tattoo’s, etc., this is for you) lives. This is what I wanted when I was growing up as a kid; To be in a position to give back to the sport of motocross. So I’m gonna wreck shop on the mic for yall like its my last. I’ll be thinking of our days this weekend, God Bless you Kent.
